Boats on calm water at sunrise off the South Shore

Inaugural Event · September 2026

The Stickmany

A day on the water. A night with friends. All for Rob.

An annual fishing tournament and celebration in memory of Rob Wittmann, benefiting youth sports in greater Boston.

Hingham, MA
Sept 18 – 19, 2026

For Rob

The water was his happy place.

Rob lived for the experience — pre-dawn launches out of Hingham, sandy feet on the Vineyard, foggy mornings on the jetty with the kids in tow. If there was a striper in the water, he wanted to be on it. He loved the chase, the challenge, reading the tide and working a rip.

But he loved the people more than he ever loved the catch. His sons holding the rod for the first time. His daughter laughing as the line went tight. Buddies trash-talking over coffee at sunrise. Rob didn't need the biggest fish — he needed you there with him. He made every trip feel like the best one yet, not because of what they caught, but because of who showed up.

The Stickmany is a day on the water built in his image — fun over everything, generous, loud, and full of family. Proceeds support youth sports organizations serving underserved communities in greater Boston.

"Rob would want this to be fun. So that's exactly what it is."

The Weekend

Three acts. One unforgettable weekend.

016:00 – 8:30 PM

Friday Night

The Calcutta Party

Every boat gets auctioned off to the crowd, live, the night before lines hit the water. Money goes in the pot. Pick the winning boat — take it home. Food, drinks, trash talk, and a toast to Rob.

025:15 AM – 12:30 PM

Saturday AM

The Tournament

20–25 brave souls push off from Hingham Yacht Club. Species Slam format — points for every unique fish, harder species worth more. Catch, photo, release. Lines in at 12:00PM.

033:00 PM – Late

Saturday PM

BBQ & Celebration

Catered BBQ, lawn games, live music, toasts, awards, the charity check, and a live auction. The crew expands to family and friends. This is the part Rob would have stayed for.

How It Works

The Species Slam.

Forget chasing one big fish. Every unique species you catch earns points. Common catches? A few. Rare surprises? Jackpot. One fish per species counts — five stripers gets you 100 points, not 500. This is a slam, not a meat haul.
